VEEDERSBURG — Mrs. Alta E. Stucker, 74, of Rt. 3, died Friday morning in Community Hospital, Williamsport, where she had been a patient for three weeks. She had been in ill health for two years. She was born in Veedersburg on May 23, 1896, to Albert Lewis and Myrtle Belle Merritt Goddard. She married Luckey Stucker on Dec. 25, 1913, at Lafayette. Mrs. Stucker was a member of Sterling Congregational Christian Church and the Newtown Chapter of Order of Eastern Star. She lived most of her life in Fountain County and attended grade school at Stone Bluff. She gave private music lessons in the Stone Bluff community. Surviving are her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Delores Slaughter of Attica, Mrs. Margaret Rice of Mellott, Mrs. Lois Coleman of Rockville; a brother, Clarence Goddard, Lafayette; eight grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Donald, who died Aug. 16, 1970, and a brother, Guy. Friends may call at the DeSutter Funeral Home, Attica, after 6 p.m. Sunday. Services will be conducted by Rev. Bill Keller, assisted by Rev. Harry Randolph at 2 p.m. Monday in Osborne Prairie Church, west of Stone Bluff. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.
